Energy Machine has incorporated a 5-axis mill-turning machine that produces crankshafts in a single mill operation. The 5-axis capability allows for the complex milling and boring of crankshaft construction to very precise tolerances.

Precision manufacturing requirements are essential to ensure that assembly cycles for large cranks can be carried out on a single machine include the turning of all inside and outside contours, milling of the counterweights, pin drilling, and the precise boring of the bearing and rod journals.

To ensure that necessary tolerances are met during all the machining steps, an integrated measuring probe controls and, if necessary, corrects the fabrication process automatically.
